Artist Statement
Like many people in society, I feel so jaded by imagery that I only take a few seconds to process a picture. I decontextualize ordinary subjects such as landscapes and add a mischievous twist to the image to challenge the viewer’s attention span. Websites such as Imgur and Reddit are my main inspiration. I am fascinated with what people are willing to put on the Internet without thinking about who will see them or how permanent they can be. My hope is that the work invokes a playful reaction or a guilty pleasure in the viewer.
